What is a Seasonal Worker Visa?

A Seasonal Worker visa enables sponsored overseas nationals to come to the UK to work for a short period.

This visa has replaced the replaced the Temporary Worker - Seasonal Worker visa (T5).

What Are the Key Eligibility Requirements for a Seasonal Worker visa?

In order to successfully apply for a Seasonal Worker visa, applicants must meet the following key requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age;
  • Must have a job offer and a certificate of sponsorship from a Home Office approved licenced sponsor; and
  • Must evidence they have sufficient money to support themselves or their sponsor must confirm that they will support the applicant.

How Long is a Seasonal Worker Visa Valid for?

A Seasonal Worker visa is granted for:

  • Up to 6 months for horticulture work i.e., picking fruit and vegetables or flowers; or
  • From 18 October to 31 December each year for poultry work

Can a Seasonal Worker Visa be Extended?

Usually, applicants cannot extend a Seasonal Worker visa.

Can Dependants Join or Accompany Seasonal Workers?

Family members are not permitted to join or accompany seasonal workers.

How Long Does it Take For a Decision to be Made?

The Home Office will usually process a UK Seasonal Worker visa application within 3 weeks.

How Much Does it Cost?

The Home office fee for a UK Seasonal Worker visa is £259.

Applicants do not need to pay the Immigration Health Surcharge.
